Sliders

Our 3ft and 4ft Movmax sliders on an ITV drama. Sliders are an integral part of equipment on most sets. They allow the operator to add small to medium adjustments depending upon the size of the slider.

We have a variety of sliders in different sizes and makes including Panther, Movmax and Darna.

Interior car rig on a BBC feature film
Car rigging

Exterior & Interior Car Rigs

Car rigs let us safely capture moving shots in and around vehicles without the actors having to drive. Exterior rigs mount the camera onto the bodywork — bonnet, doors, wings or a tracking arm — while interior rigs mount inside the cabin, using vibration isolators and quick-release systems to keep the image smooth and the setup safe.

Earlier this year we had the pleasure of providing our car rigging for the BBC feature film 'A Town in Nova Scotia', shot in Liverpool with cinematographer Crystel Fournier. A great production to be part of, and a lovely example of both our exterior and interior car-rig work in action.

Track & Dolly

Dolly, track and crew out on an ITV drama. The most notable piece of equipment operated by the grip department is the 'Dolly'.

A camera dolly is a wheeled platform that a camera and operator can be mounted on. The dolly is then pushed or moved horizontally and can often jib vertically up and down. The dolly usually has the operator riding but also sometimes a focus puller and operator riding.

Camera Rigging Position Specialists

Getting the camera into the right position is often the hardest part of a shot — up high, low to the ground, into tight corners or somewhere it really shouldn't fit. We specialise in rigging cameras into difficult and unusual positions safely and precisely, using the full range of grip equipment, mounts and bespoke solutions to make the DOP's vision possible.

A recent example is the feature film 'Retreat', currently on the festival circuit, which we provided grip crew and camera rigging for. A genuinely enjoyable production and a great showcase of the kind of creative rigging problem-solving we love getting our teeth into.
